London Fashion Week - Mary Katrantzou (Fall 2012)
Extraordinary Prints were a given with any Mary Katrantzou runway show, but it was the combination of these new designs on different silhouettes which added to the drama of the fall collection. The detailled embellishement and embroideries enhanced the prints, making the garments so intense at times but utterly beautiful.

Loving a Collaboration
The ability for a designer to join forces with retail chains to share their ideas and aesthetics can be a great thing. Only when it is done well!
Designers have the chance to show their creativity to a different market mixed with some of the usual clientele. Express their ideas with new concerns to meet the needs of the chains consumer. The price point is different and the quantity of units made per piece, higher then the usual hand crafted pieces. But the exposure is undeniably unmeasurable, with a variety of new consumers for the brand.
Some may say it lowers the designers integrity and branding but when it is done well, everyone hears about it.

2011 in three words
An ecletic mix of fashion creating, what i like to call, "Vintage Rock Frivolity". Influenced by Pop culture and history, the compexities of feminine lines from vintage pieces are contrasted to the strong modern street garments of today.

She Coloured Sydney's Town Hall
Sydney's Town Hall became a kaleidoscope of colour, on Friday 26th August for Camilla's Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival show. The great array of prints in hues to mesmerise, encapsulated what Camilla’s Labyrinth collection is all about. With models showcasing the kaftans on the runway, the soft flowing fabrics billowed with the movement of the wearer.
From tribal influences to animal prints, bold colours and crisp whites, this collection had great aesthetic and something for everyone.
The finally saw 20 models striding down the catwalk in their Camilla wedges, with designer Camilla Franks in an embellished animal print kaftan. Camilla's runway presence got the audience feeling both her excitement and passion for the Labyrinth collection.
The short lengths to long kaftans, the many intricate details make these garments in a league of their own. Swarovski crystals reflect the light in patterns to enhance the exclusive Camilla print designs. I particularly like the vibrant hooded short length kaftan with the Swarovski crystal neckline.
